A Study of Southeast/East Coast Hurricanes
**Updated 8/4/06**
In the coming weeks I plan to use NCEP and
NARR reanalysis data to study the synoptic environments for some
significant/memorable SE and east coast hurricanes. The goal here will be to
improve our pattern recognition of future hurricane patterns, in order to
improve forecasting from lessons learned in the past. Some of the storms I plan
to look at are Hugo, Fran, Hazel, Floyd, Bertha, and Bonnie.
